Nicole Rae Styer – Unique Fashion for Eco-Friendly Philly!

November 26, 2008

Are you sick of going to parties or bars seeing a girl or guy in the same outfit as you?  Fear not eco-liz044copy2conscientious fashionistas, there’s a clothing line in town to prevent that problem.

Nicole Rae Styer designs a line of clothes for people who like to be unique or stand out. Her inspiration comes from vintage styles.  She creates one-of-a-kind dresses, tank tops, shirts, purses, intimate apparel and home decor for women, as well as kids clothing and men’s shirts.  She takes pride in ensuring each piece of her line is unique and pays careful attention to detail, just two of the reasons she had her work shown at the prestigous Fashion Week run-way show last year.

When wearing these trends, you’ll be supporting a local designer with a studio in Fishtown.  (Nicole grew up in Philly and attended the University of the Arts.)  Nicole recycles and reuses vintage materials for a green line.  She reuses vintage clothes, dresses, trims & embellishments to make each of her pieces truly distinctive.  She finds these pieces in thrift and antique stores, or receives from people who ‘retired’ from sewing.  Plus, all of her dyes are organic that she uses for vintage slip dresses and other apparel.

Want to get your hands on Nicole’s fashions?  For the upcoming holidays, she’s creating holiday and party/cocktail dresses and corsets.  If you see something you like – act fast, as it won’t be recreated exactly the same.  (Good news though – Nicole does custom orders – if you want a similar piece to something you’ve seen.)

You can find Nicole’s line in over 20 boutiques in New York, San Diego, Delaware, Panama and of course Philly!  Find Nicole’s fashions in local stores such as Art Star Gallery and Boutique, Vix Emporium, TopStich, Vagabond, Mew Gallery, Totally Posh Boutique, Aci Nae Boutique, Malena’s Unique Boutique (West Chester) and Arrowroots (Paoli) and other stores seen here.

For more info, check Nicole’s website or myspace page.
