images Citizens Bank Park Tops PETA's Vegetarian Friendly ListAnother win for the Phillies boys and girls: Citizens Bank Park is #1 on PETA’s Top 10 vegetarian friendly ball parks. Our home stadium was the first ballpark to offer veggie fare (and recently added more choices) on TOP of being one of the most green stadiums with their Red Goes Green Campaign.

The Phillies stadium serves tasty veggie options like:

Veggie “steak”, veggie “chicken” sandwiches, veggie wraps, and now southwestern black bean burgers and faux “crab cake” salads.

Another reason to be proud to be a die-hard green Phillies fan.

Check out Peta’s complete top ten list.

Plus, check this out - PETA was also clever enough to point out the trend between vegetarian menu enhancements and the Phillies improved performance over the years… up to our team’s World Series Win!

    Fantastic!
I love black bean burgers, Go Phils (crush the Mets!)

  2. Nic G says:

That is too cool. Maybe this is why the tickets sell out so often!

  3. Julie says:

I agree Johan & Nic! I absolutely LOVE PETA’s correlation between World Series Wins/team record and their veggie-friendly ballpark status – hilarious! The Phils better do something ASAP for repeat champ year in 2009! I have so much excitement already, if you can’t tell by the number of Beth & my posts about the Phillies and being green…

  4. Wow! This is news for me. Granted, the last time I’ve been to the stadium it was about 10 years ago, but I still remember how hungry I was and that all I could get to eat that hasn’t been killed before was a hot dog bun …
Seems times are indeed changing :)
    Cool!

  5. [...] As you loyal Green Philly Blog readers may know, Beth & I are avid Phillies fans.  (Case in point: see insert below as we celebrated World Series Victory in ’08.)  While the Phillies are lovable for so many reasons (my fav player Chooch to name one ?!?), their green ambitions are certainly noteworthy between their Red Goes Green campaign, Pitcher Ryan Madson (ahh) greening his home and awards for being most veggie-friendly by PETA.  [...]
