Quick Tip: Eat Your (Holiday) Leftovers!
Need another reason to have a leftover meal of turkey and stuffing?
Over 40% of food produced in America is not eaten.
Fossil fuels are used to fertilize, harvest and process much of the food we eat. Ample gas is spent transporting food from processor to manufacturer.
Help lessen the impact by eating those leftovers! It’s easy to dump the rest of dinner down the garbage disposal. Instead, enjoy it for your next meal(s).
This time of year family get-togethers often lead to plenty of extra food – don’t let it go to waste. Eat ‘em up or consider packaging pies, cookies and other goodies and sharing with friends and neighbors. These simple actions can save money and cut down on needless food waste.
