To many readers excitement or dismay, my half-assed recipes are back.
Though I have fake-a-tarian status, I was craving beef stroganoff for dinner. Luckily I had some of the leftover egg noodles and Boca beef crumbles (a prop for my Sh*t Green People Say satire) and took a trip to Whole Foods. I played off the Vegetarian Casserole Queen’s recipe and made my own half-assed twist.
Here’s what I did:
Did you know that sitting idle in the drive-thru of your bank or fav fast food restaurant is wasting gas? Next time stretch your legs and get out of the car, man. Better yet – walk to your destination if feasible. You’ll save energy & precious gasoline. Posted by Beth
In response to the youtube sensation Shit Girls Say, we’ve created our own meme take on those eco-friendly freaks.

Readers, what shit are you sick of eco-friendly people saying?
One thing I enjoy about being a green activist and blogger is my belief in the value of a sustainable lifestyle is often reenergized by the efforts of others.
Lately I’ve been giving thought to the zero waste home – as the family behind the concept continues to garner well-deserved press.
The Johnsons of Mill Valley, California are the zero waste family. The Johnson family’s primary goal is to avoid bringing anything into the house that must eventually be discarded.

Disclaimer: I’m not a food blogger nor a food expert. But I do have a newfound love for vegetarian cooking. And promise to relay this recipe as I created it, errors and all.)
So I knew I officially turned old/domesticated/boring at the ripe ol’ age of 28 when my parents gave me 2 casserole dishes for my birthday… And for Christmas I received (after asking for) a 9-cup, Kitchen Aid Food Processor. I was so excited to use it, I processed all 4 veggies in my house on Christmas day!
The rest of my recipe was impromptu, so feel free to experiment on your own for the veggies, cheese & portions. Enjoy!

“Fracking” has been thrown around as a foreign term for natural gas mining. Definition: Short for hydraulic fracturing, “fracking” refers to the procedure of creating fractures in rocks and rock formations by injecting fluid into cracks to force them further open. The larger fissures allow more oil and gas to flow out of the formation and into the wellbore, from where it can be extracted.
I attended a Gasland Screening last week at Franklin Commons. Although I had read about fracking prior, I didn’t know too much about the process. Luckily, the event organizer arranged two special guests to address the issue: PA Senator Andy Dinniman & Filmmaker of Gasland Josh Fox.
Senator Andy Dinniman started off the session, (find out more, after the jump!)
Rachael Kennedy recently completed her Low Car Diet with Zipcar, just like I did last year! We had a chance to ask her a few questions about her experience. She’s a recent Temple University graduate who moved to Philly last August. Just as she was going on her second year as a city-dweller and sick of the parking scene, she heard about Zipcar. The Low Car Diet seemed like a perfect trial period to go car-less.
Now, for the questions:
