Asthma, Climate Change and Health Webinar

October 19, 2015 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Free

In honor of Children’s Health Month, the National Nursing Centers Consortium (NNCC) is holding a webinar, in partnership with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), on Asthma, Climate Change, and Health on Monday, October 19th from 12:00pm to 1:30pm.

To register for the webinar, please click here .

During this session, participants will learn:
• How climate change will affect health, particularly for children and asthmatics
• How to improve indoor air quality in the home by identifying and eliminating asthma triggers in the home
• Actions people can take to mitigate the risks associated with asthma and climate change.

This webinar, for all health and social service providers, will discuss climate change in general terms and provide take-home messages to be shared with vulnerable populations. It will examine indoor environmental health and asthma triggers (such as mold and pests) as well as how to identify and minimize these exposures. Ensuring the safety and health of children as the climate changes is a priority for NNCC and EPA and we hope you’ll be able to join us for this important discussion. Presenters for this webinar will include:

  • Dr. Ruth Etzel, M.D., Ph.D., Director, Office of Children’s Health Protection, EPA
