Eat Healthy, Give Healthy! Fresh Produce Food Drive & Community Day

This spring, The Food Trust is partnering once again with the Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger to host Eat Healthy, Give Healthy!, a healthy food drive at one of The Food Trust’s most popular farmers’ markets in Philadelphia. At this community celebration at Fairmount Farmers’ Market at 22nd Street & Fairmount Avenue on June 4 from 3 to 7 p.m., farmers’ market shoppers will have the opportunity to share seasonal spring produce with Philadelphia’s low-income families by purchasing a few dollars of extra produce in addition to their groceries and donating these healthy items to food pantries in Fairmount. This food drive has been piloted at several other Food Trust farmers’ markets and has been very successful, with over 200 pounds of produce donated from each drive.

In addition, farmers’ market shoppers can enjoy yoga classes, garden workshops, live music and more! All market shoppers who participate in the Eat Healthy, Give Healthy! food drive will  also be entered in a raffle to win prizes like yoga class passes and gift certificates to local businesses.
