REI and United by Blue’s Wissahickon Creek Cleanup

Join United by Blue, REI Conshohocken, REI King of Prussia, the City of Philadelphia and Friends of the Wissahickon for our first Wissahickon Creek cleanup! UBB has partnered with over 10 REI stores in the northeastern United States for a two week cleanup road trip. Help us kick-off our trash-trek at Devil’s Pool and Wissahickon Creek, which runs through the beautiful Fairmount Park system before emptying into the Schuylkill River. This urban oasis is home to precious wildlife habitat, and a large variety of recreational areas for hiking, biking and running. Given the park’s heavy recreational use and proximity to one of the largest metro areas in the world, trash is drawn to the creek. Help REI and United by Blue clean-up the creek and preserve this urban sanctuary for generations to come.

United By Blue and REI will provide water, trash bags, supplies, and gloves as well as Clif Bars for volunteers. All volunteers will have the chance to win prizes during two cleanup games: weirdest trash find and total weight guess. All volunteers will also receive an exclusive Cleanup Crew trucker hat! Groups of all sizes are welcome!

Please wear closed toe shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty or wet.
