Repair Fair #5 – Philly Fixers Guild

The Philly Fixers Guild is a community organization that supports our neighbors and the city through regular Repair Fairs like this one. During the Fair, guests from all around Philadelphia are welcome to bring in their damaged or inoperative possessions to have a capable volunteer fixer help them get it back to working condition.
The primary objective of the Guild is to shift our conventional wisdom that broken items should necessarily be thrown out and replaced. Repair Fairs are not intended to be just a free repair service. Instead they should serve as a means to inform and educate people in troubleshooting and repair. The eventual goal being to enable folks to repair and mend things without assistance. Ultimately, less garbage will be generated while more resources and money will be saved.
