Standards for Cleaner Air: A Public Roundtable on Transportation Emissions in Philadelphia

August 23, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

PennFuture and Clean Air Council will host a roundtable discussion with policymakers and local experts on vehicle emissions and strategies for improvement.

Philadelphia receives an ‘F’ grade in the latest American Lung Association “State of the Air” report. Poor air quality is a critical public health issue in Philadelphia, and emissions from transportation make up the largest source of carbon pollution in the United States.

The panel will feature speakers from a variety of perspectives and sectors: policy, sustainability, transportation, and public health, including:

  • State Representative Donna Bullock (D-Philadelphia);
  • Erik Johanson, director of innovation at SEPTA;
  • Tony Bandiero, executive director of Eastern PA Alliance for Clean Transportation;
  • Jessica Caum, assistant program manager in Bioterrorism and Public Health Preparedness at the Philadelphia Department of Health; and
  • Christine Knapp, director of the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability.

PennFuture Energy Center director, Rob Altenburg will moderate.

Register by emailing Zakia Elliott, southeast regional outreach coordinator at elliott@pennfuture.org or by calling at 215-545-9692. Registration deadline is Monday, August 24.
