Wilson’s Soap is an example of how one idea can morph into another and do it well.
Don Wilson’s initial business model was based on promoting the concept of a BioDiesel Plant in Philadelphia.
But, when the economy went downhill Wilson found himself with a whole slew of equipment, and “nothing to do with it”, he says.

Wilson discovered that soap and BioDiesel are more similar than one would imagine. Some soap is actually a byproduct of making BioDiesel.

As a man whose hobbies included soap-making starting a company where he could combine a craft and utilize his machinery seemed a natural fit. After thousands of tests to get the formulas just right Wilson’s Soap Co. was born.

I had the pleasure of testing out some of the companies products. Here are my thoughts:

Scent : I adored the Lavender – very fresh and feminine. My fiance kindly tried the Clove and gave the scent two thumbs up.

Lather: This one really depends on your showertime preference. Wilson’s soaps don’t get overly “bubbly”, but they lather enough that you feel clean.

Grip: These soaps are a bit bigger than most store-bought brands. This means more bang for your buck but I did struggle with holding on.

Packaging: Gold stars here. I love the “turn of the century” look of the packaging. More importantly it’s environmentally friendly!

Wilson’s Soaps would make lovely stocking stuffers. Purchase them here , and stay tuned for additional fragrances and a liquid cleaning line.
