Get Your Runner’s High On: Weekend Events 10/10- 10/12

weekend brunchHappy Friday!

This week, we learned from Next City that New York has a StreetsPAC for more pedestrian & biking friendly cities. Perhaps Philly can follow suite? Thanks to Be Well Philly for confirming our Runner’s High and Hidden City Philadelphia for taking us to an underground 4-million gallon sewage & storage tank. And obviously, Generocity’s piece about chickens from Nic Esposito made us rethink our compost bins (but not really…)

Regardless, we hope you had the chance to prance around the pumpkin patch or relax with pumpkin drinks during a crisp fall evening! If not, don’t worry – this weekend’s full of boozing.

Whether you want to kick-off the weekend with a 5K throughout Fishtown, enjoy some craft beer on South Street, or fall in love with the culture of Old City, Philly has it all.

Events for the weekend of October 10-12:

  •  Fishtown RiverCity Festival: Head to Penn Treaty Park on Saturday for the 7th annual Fall Festival! The entertainment begins with a Fun Run throughout the streets of Fishtown, beginning and ending at Penn Treaty Park. Saturday, run at noon, festival 12-6, Penn Treaty Park. Deets.
  • Blocktober Fest: Enjoy four blocks of food, beer and other fall festivities at this pay-as-you-go block party. Have an advanced palate? Score a beer bracelet and tap into a wide variety of craft beers on tap! Keep the good vibes going with free music entertainment on South Street! Saturday, October 11, 12-8 PM, South Street Broad – 18th. Website.
  • Old City Fest: Become immersed with the beautiful Old City culture; with a number of city staples, Old City Fest is the place to go for a taste of Philadelphia, filled with food, art & entertainment. Sunday, October 12, Noon – 6pm, Arch Street between 2nd and 4th streets, and 3rd street between Race and Market street. Deets.
