10 Reasons Get Excited About Greenfest Philly – 10th Anniversary!

It’s hard to believe Philadelphia’s biggest eco-friendly festival has been around for 10 years.

I remember going to the very first Greenfest Philly and buying a skirt upcycled from old ties. The festival has come a long way and I’m excited to give you a sneak peak of what you can see and do this year.

Top 10 Reasons to Get Psyched for Greenfest Philly on Sunday:

10. Buy local! Headhouse Farmers’ Market will be bustling with delicious locally grown fruits, veggies, cheeses, and more.

9. Shop for eco-friendly fashion, beauty, and home goods – including Soapbox Holistic soaps and Glad Dog Nation recycled dog toys. Purchase one of a kind handmade art and crafts from eco-artisans such as Beaucycled upcycled jewelry and terrariums, EcoJarz make and sell lids to fit on mason jars, and Little Chair Printing screen printing shop on a bicycle.

8. Win exciting prizes like a Trek bike from Philadelphia Insurance Companies to make commuting greener AND more fun. Biking to the festival couldn’t be easier with the Philadelphia Insurance Companies’ Bike Valet or taking a new Indego bike for a spin!

7. Get a bird’s eye view of the festival from the top of the 25’ rock climbing wall for kids (and adults) to scale. MOM’s Organic Market Kids’ Corner has music, eco-friendly crafts, and fun for our budding environmentalists. MOM’s will have a mini-market with lots of free samples to try.

6. Fill up on delicious sustainable noms from food trucks like Farm Truck, Local 215, and Kung Fu Hoagies. Leave room for dessert because Little Baby’s Ice Cream, Lil Pop Shop, and Weckerley’s will all be on site – even vegan ice cream!

5. Take a break in the Rest and Recharge tent with upcycled furniture, FREE iced coffee from Joe Coffee and solar powered chargers for your phone. Pamper yourself with chair massage and natural organic treatments from Eviama Life Green Spa.

4. Start your Greenfest day with a FREE outdoor yoga class led by DIG Yoga’s Alison Mungan. This all levels class will get you sweating and leave you feeling zen. Don’t forget to bring your mat!

3. Rock out with The Lawsuits, TJ Kong and the Atomic Bomb, Levee Drivers, and Nathan Earl and Rachel Joy. This all day free concert on the mainstage features Philly’s favorite homegrown music. Listen to a preview on our 10th anniversary Spotify playlist – https://open.spotify.com/user/1215528978/playlist/68P23ZymSDFOzCSoYt6ETb

2. Create some FOMO by taking a pic in our photo booth and sharing the Greenfest fun with all of your friends on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. We suggest snapping a pic with one of the PAWS’ loveable pups that will be next to the booth and sharing it to help them find a furrrrrever home.

1. Being a part of Philly’s sustainable scene. Show that you care and come out to support the Clean Air Council and over 120 other businesses and organizations that are working to protect our environment.

Now that there’s no excuse not to attend, I can’t wait to see you Sunday, September 13 at Headhouse Square. For more information on the festival, visit Greenfest Philly’s website.
