Bathtub Beer Fest: Enjoy Local Craft Brewers (by Philly Beer Week)

Bathtub Beer Fest presented by Philly Beer WeekIt’s cold outside, it gets dark at 5, and we’re practically ready to haul up the holly before getting our free-range (or tofu) turkeys. The change of seasons can only mean one thing: Are you ready to go local with your brews for Philly Beer Week?

OK, so maybe the Philly Beer Week 2013 is a little far away. But luckily the Bathtub Beer Fest is approaching on Thursday, November 15th from 7-10 PM.

Hosted at the National Constitution Center (5th & Arch Sts), the Prohibition-era beer drinking party & fundraiser prepares us for Philly Beer Week. This suds-filled celebration of beer & craft beer drinking has some of the best local craft breweries around, and all chilled in bathtubs full of ice. This pays tribute to the ultimate prohibition brewing, to coincide with the Constitution Center’s new exhibit “American Spirits: The Rise & Fall of Prohibition.” An on-site “bathtub brew” will also be on hand to try.

Local participating breweries in Bathtub Beer Fest include Dock Street, Dogfish Head, Fifth & Blake, Neshaminy Crek, Nodding Head, Sly Fox, Victory, Weyerbacher, sustainable Yards and wayyy more. Does all this roaring 20’s talk get you psyched for retro times? Don’t worry – flapper gear & fedoras are strongly encouraged.

Want to grab tickets to this local brew event? Click through & get them through the Bathtub Beer Fest ‘site for $45. Designated Drivers can attend for only $15 and still catch the National Constitution Center’s exhibit, which is included in the Bathtub Beer Fest ticket.

You can wait & anticipate to celebrate local brews & events during Philly Beer Week is May 31 – June 9, 2013.

Readers, are you heading to the Bathtub Beer Fest? Any local brews you love?
