Get up, Get Out: Week Guide April 13-15th

How gorgeous is the weather outside?

This week has a lot of drink-related events on tap (pun intended) to get us out of our houses & back into socializing.

Philly Week Events of April 13-16th, 2015:

  • The Lost World of Plant Monsters: Animal-Plants, Stone-Plants, and other Categorical Challenges: Join Science on Tap to learn about a world of plant monsters, whose ability to walk, to feed, or to feel, breached the boundaries between animal and vegetable kingdoms and helped to revise what it means to be a plant, a human, or something in between. Because science, yo. Tonight, Monday April 13th at 6 PM; National Mechanics, 22 S 3rd St, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19106. Facebook RSVP & Info.
  • Artful Sustainability – How Artists Engage with a Changing Environment: PAFA hosts the first lecture in a new series in honor of late Philadelphia sculptor Dina Wind. Artful Sustainability presents artists and architects from three regions, discussing arts’ evolution as a system for social engagement. Tuesday, April 15, 7-8:30 p.m., Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, 118-128 N. Broad Street. More info.
  • YIP’s April Get Involved Happy Hour: Join Young Involved Philadelphia (YIP) and a selection of our partner organizations on the outdoor patio at City Tap House – University City for drink specials and lounging by their outdoor fire pits on Thursday, April 16. This event is a chance to learn more about what’s happening in Philly and how you can get plugged in. Ticket price includes your first drink. Thursday, April 16th at 5:30 PM-7:30, City Tap House, 3925 Walnut Street; Facebook RSVP.
  • Urban Geek Drinks: April Meet-Up: Join a monthly happy hour for a diverse group of civic do-gooders in Philadelphia. It’s an opportunity for you to connect with other people who give a damn and are working incredibly hard to make Philadelphia a really great city. Also Thursday, April 16th at 6-9 PM, Frankford Hall, Facebook RSVP.
