Join the Right to Breathe rally tomorrow with Philly Thrive & Action United

Let’s fill the streets with our bodies and voices this Saturday, May 7th and assert our right to breathe clean air!

We’ll mobilize for our Right to Breathe through a community rally and direct action. The demonstration, led by community groups Philly Thrive and Action United, is to show our opposition to expanding the Philadelphia Energy Solutions (PES) oil refinery in South Philly.

For too long, PES has violated environmental regulations, dodged taxes, and filled the air with toxins, all while promoting the vision of a prosperous future for Philadelphia becoming a dirty “energy hub.”

Right to Breathe Rally

We will be planting seed bombs at the gates of the refinery, containing the “seeds of resistance” against fossil fuel expansion. We need Philadelphians to come together and support the green economy in our city by saying “no” to refinery expansion and “yes” to our right to breathe. This event is a family-friendly rally, children and adults will be welcome. Food will be available at a community picnic afterward.
