Philly 5th Annual Spring Cleanup Day is April 14 – Volunteer with GPB!

Philly Spring Cleanup Day 2012 is Saturday, April 14.Psyched to “Keep Up the Sweep Up?” Philly Spring Cleanup Day is April 14, 2012 from 9 AM – 2 PM!

Last year alone, over 12,000 volunteers helped with over 250 projects and collected an incredible 1.3 million pounds of trash. Let’s make it bigger this year.

Mayor Nutter kicked off the campaign at McPherson Square Park in Kensington saying, “I’m continually inspired by what we achieve every year during the Philly Spring Cleanup.  Thousands of volunteers, hundreds of projects and millions of pounds of trash and recycling have been collected over the last four years. We’ve accomplished a lot, but I know we can do better this year. In honor of the Philly Spring Cleanup’s fifth anniversary, let’s work together to make this the best cleanup yet and keep the effort going all year long.

Green Philly Blog is hosting a cleanup this year in Northern Liberties.  We’re finalizing details and will tell-all early next week!

Organizations can submit projects until Friday, March 30th.  Volunteers can sign-up on the same Philly Spring Cleanup Day website.
