Philly Farm & Food Fest 2014 Returns April 13

Philly Farm & Food Fest 2014Now that the polar vortex is over, we can enjoy the fruits of spring… and more importantly, the best locavore event in town.

Philly Farm & Food Fest 2014

The Philly Farm & Food Fest returns on Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 11 AM to 4 PM at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The third annual festival promises an abundance of local farms, food artisans, farm-to-table restaurants, local beer & spirits, sustainable businesses showcasing samplings and products. A joint effort between Fair Food and PASA, the Philly Farm & Food Fest is boasting a bigger and better event with over 100 vendors, doubling in size from previous years.

On top of the samplings, workshops include DIY kitchen demos, kid-friendly workshops, expert speakers and more. New for 2014, the Local Libations Lounge will allow you to talk to the local spirit makers themselves. The Shellfish Salon will include a guided tasting by Sansom St. Oyster House owner Sam Mink. Plus, catch a sneak peek of local family-friendly movie Watermelon Magic.

Carnivores can reserve their meat fills from Philly Cow Share to pickup at the Farm & Food Fest, even with some special promotions. On the opposite end of the spectrum, vegans will enjoy samplings from Vegan Commissary & Whole Food’s  vegan crostini and Char Nolan’s whole food, plant-based cooking demo.

Regardless of your interest, local shoppers can connect directly with their local food producers, farmers and artisans. Co-founded by Ann Karlen, and Marilyn Anthony, this event emphasizes the wide selection and awesome quality of local food movement.

Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door, with children 12 and under free. Buy your tickets online now.
