Weekend Events for June 27th – June 29th:

  • Guide of the Wissahickon. Hidden City co-editor Brad Maule is playing tour guide of the Wissahickon trail for a 3.5 hour hike, especially approp after embarking on his One Man’s Trash to help cleanup the park. The ticket includes a picnic for Friends of the Wissahickon on July 12th including food & drink – not too shabby. Only two tickets remain so hustle on over & register. June 28th @10:45 AM, $40, meet at SEPTA Allen Lane Station W. Allens Ln & Cresheim Rd.
  • Ride of Dreams Benefit Party. Linh profiled Neighborhood Bike Works earlier, and appropriately their Ride of Dreams Benefit Party is tomorrow afternoon! Join the party at the Urban Saloon for food, drink specials, live music, raffle tickets and more. June 28 @ 2-5 PM, $25-$35, Urban Saloon: 2120 Fairmount Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19130.
  • Plant Sale. The Schuylkill Center is hosting an  Early Summer Native Plant Sale with a wide selection of flowering shrubs, vines, and perennials to help boost your pollinators & home, backyard or urban garden. June 28, 9 AM-2PM, free to attend, 8480 Hagy’s Mill Road, Philadelphia,PA 19128.
  • Great American Backyard Campout. Camp out under the stars with your family for healthy, outdoor fun during the Great American Backyard Campout. The Schuylkill Center is teaming up with the National Wildlife Federation with canoeing and hiking, campfire stories and listening for nocturnal wildlife. You can BYO tend or rent one for the event, and dinner/breakfast included.   June 28 @ 3 PM – June 29 @ 11:30 AM, $35, 8480 Hagy’s Mill Road, Philadelphia,PA 19128; Tickets.
  • Bird Walk in Tacony Creek Park: Join the Tookany/Tacony-Frankford (Better known as TTF) Watershed for a FREE walk to explore birds with expert Keith Russell. June 29 @ 8-10:30 AM, 1 st & Ramona Ave, Phila PA 19124, RSVp: doryan@ttfwatershed.org.
  • D & Q’s Annual Bike Swap: Buy or sell your bike (and/or parts) during this MS fundraiser in Cherry Hill. June 28 10 AM – 5 PM, June 29th 12-4 PM,  1720 W Marlton  Pike, Cherry Hill NJ; more info.
  • Petty’s Island Ride. Join the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia for a Sunday afternoon ride to explore Camden’s circuit. Ride culminates at Victor’s Pub in Camden, where riders can leave from or ride back together over the bridge. June 29 @ 1-5 PM, Petty’s Island, Camden, NJ; Tickets, Free for members, otherwise $20.
