Where to Donate Winter Coats in Philadelphia – WCI Weds

donate winter coatsLet’s face it – Weather like this arctic blast is almost unbearable – but also reminds us of how lucky we are to have warm homes & warm coats. But do you have old, unused coats in your closets?

Where Can You Donate Old Winter Coats?

  • Mount Airy is hosting a coat drive through January 15th! If you go to a participating restaurant and donate a coat, you’ll get a free dessert with your meal! (Participating restaurants include Earth Bread & Brewery, Wine Thief, Avenida, Little Jimmies Bakery Café, Jyoti Indian Bistro, Geechee Girl Rice Café, Trolley Car Diner, Goat Hollow and High Point Café.) Find out more details from our friends at Aversa PR.
  • Feel the Warmth is a local organization in Jefferson, PA that takes winter coat donations. You can organize a winter coa drive in your neighborhood or office or send monetary donations. According to their website, boy & girls coats size 14-20 are in demand.
  • The Career Wardrobe accepts ready-to-wear clothing donations (including coats) and helps local women transitioning back into the workplace at locations including 21 South 12th Street, Philadelphia or  1822 Spring Garden St., Philadelphia. Find out all the locations & hours on the Career Wardrobe’s website.
  • One Warm Coat says that now is the best time to donate winter coats! They have several agencies to accept donations around the Philadelphia area, including the Parent Infant Center (4205 Spruce St, Philadelphia) and Preferred Automotive Specialists in Jenkintown, PA. Check all of their donation drop-off locations on their website.
  • Cradles to Crayons accepts newborn – youth (14/16) winter coats in West Conshohocken and several other locations.

Readers, do you know of any other additional coat donation locations in the Philly region? Leave them in the comments!
