Where to Recycle Styrofoam Packing Peanuts in Philadelphia? WCI Weds

recycle styrofoam packing peanutsAs many of you may see on our Instagram and Twitter feeds, my new pet Pouncey has quite the range of accessories since his adoption. Although he does try to reduce his carbon catprint, we were both offended when my ‘Pouncey toys & treats’ mail order came with a box filled of packing peanuts.

So what can you do with this tiny styrofoam confetti (aka packing peanuts)?

First and foremost, try to give to a local business or friend who would be able to reuse first. Have a friend that ships a lot of breakables to clients? Perfect fit!

You can also recycle packing peanuts.

where to recycle packing peanuts in Philadelphia:

  • South Street Business Center (744 South Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147 – (215) 592-8000)
  • Northern Liberties Mailbox Store (630 N 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123 – (215) 627-6215)
  • Philadelphia Mailroom (8001 Castor Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19152-2701 – (215) 745-1100)

As always, we recommend calling before hauling over recyclables. Check the Plastic Loose Fill Council for additional drop off locations or call the automated, 24-hour Peanut Hot line at 800-828-2214
