The National Bike Challenge officially began May 1st. The challenge is essentially a nationwide effort to increase bicycle ridership through camaraderie and good-natured competition. The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia (BCGP) is organizing the initiative for Philly. So how does the National Bike Challenge work?

A few years ago, I was wary of buying a bike: It was scary, I hadn't ridden a bike since I was a child AND I had no idea where to even start buying one! Not ready to bite the bullet and purchase a bike yet? You can now give it a spin by renting one in Fairmount Park! Today, Mayor Nutter, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Fairmount Park Conservancy welcomed Wheel Fun Rentals to Fairmount Park at 3 locations: Lloyd Hall (Boathouse Row), Love Park & Bathey House/Trolley Car Cafe in East Falls.
