Friday Wrapup: Eco-Friendly Lazy Laundry, Toolshares, Keystone XL & Fracking

President's Day CupcakeDid anyone cut down a cherry tree (and hopefully plant 5 to replace it for the PHS) in honor of President’s day?  Here’s the green Philly movers & shakers we just couldn’t fit in this week:

Wish there was an eco-friendly laundry service to help with the pile of clothes on your floor?  Wash Cycle Laundry (1-888-611-9274) at 1611 South St. treats your clothes with eco-friendly detergent in energy-efficient machines, and then loads everything onto a bicycle-pulled trailer. Holllar.

Philly loves sharing cars, cows & agriculture, and now tools too!  West Philly Tool Library loans tools & knowledge to use them to neighbors for house & garden products.

How will fracking affect our lovely Pennsylvania lands?  This Fracking Landscape video shows 2 different Pennsylvanias…It even helped my dad understand what fracking really looks like… (Bonus: Australian-ish narrator!)

Cutting thousands of acres of forests, diverting rivers, strip-mining, and destroying critical wildlife habitats … and a few more reasons why the Keystone XL Pipeline is bad news

And since Infographics are my favorite, here’s one on water conservation…

Five Fifths furniture is sourced locally & created with sweet designs to optimize natural wood’s (giggle) shape for quality.

In Green Philly Blog new, Beth gave you a delish crispy tofu recipe to try this weekend, and Julie is attempting to survive only on local products for 40 days.
