Defend Our Future: Small Business and Sustainability Roundtable

    April 19, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

During congressional recess, on April 19th, 2017 at 6pm in the CityCoHo, we are partnering with a team of Temple University student leaders, Temple Fox School of Business, the Philadelphia Sustainable Business Network, the Philly Nexus, and local millennial entrepreneurs to produce a small business and sustainability roundtable with the following goals:

    • To facilitate dialogue amongst small business owners in the Philadelphia area where they’ll discuss climate change’s impact on their bottom line and speak more generally about the importance of adopting models of business that value people and the planet in addition to profit
    • To illustrate the impact of climate change on small business practices and consumer choice in Philadelphia and how strong environmental protections are key to a healthy business climate
    • To highlight sustainable business practices of millennial business owners and local companies and cooperative networks that serve millennials in an effort to promote sustainable consumer behavior in the Philadelphia community, particularly amongst college student residents
    • To discuss best practices with student entrepreneurs and established business owners alike and connect local efforts to our strategy of encouraging bold political action on matters of climate justice
