Happy Earth Day!

(Technically yesterday was the “official” Earth Day. But really, every day is earth day!)

We celebrated this past week by recognizing simple steps you can take to leave a smaller footprint. We were psyched to see everyone using the hashtag and sharing their easy tips. Here are a few of our favs.

The Philadelphia Zoo shared their 87 geothermal wells for temperatures.

Over the past 15 years we’ve installed 87 geothermal wells to use the relatively constant temperatures in the Earth’s crust to heat and cool buildings naturally! #EarthDay #ItsAlwaysGreenInPhilly

Green Eggs doesn’t provide straws unless they’re requested, which is a great move since Americans use 500 MILLION every day.

One way Green Eggs Cafe stays eco-friendly is by only giving out straws on request. Did you know Americans use about 500 million straws a day? The plastic used to make straws is not biodegradable and can take 100’s of years to breakdown once thrown away! ? By greatly limiting our usage of straws and saying “no” we are making great, eco-friendly choices! ??
