Ride an Indego Bike Designed by the Mural Arts Program (& students!)

Want to ride bikes in (more) style?

Ten Indego bikes (aka the Philadelphia Bike Share bikes) designed & styled by local youth are hitting the streets today, due to a partnership between the Mural Arts Program, the Mayor’s Office of Transportation & Utilities, and the Better Bike Share Partnership.

Just look at these beauties:

20 students aged 10-15 years from the Laura W. Waring Elementary School designed the bikes in an after school program led by artist Candy Coated and Mural Arts educator Sarah Folger. Art themes are “sharing” and “biking”, quite catchy for the cause. They also made stickers of the artwork to put on helmets donated by the Indego bike share program.

Indego Bike Share Contest

If you see one of these bikes around town, you can Tweet or ‘Gram it for a chance to win prizes. Just use the hashtag #ridingmurals.
