Can you recycle egg cartons in Philadelphia?

Yes, cardboard egg cartons are recyclable in Philadelphia.

However, the styrofoam egg cartons are NOT recyclable and should not go into your single-stream recycling bin. They need to go into the trash.

If you belong to a CSA or frequent Farmers Markets, ask your local producers if they accept used egg cartons. Many will take back your egg cartons (or those green fruit/veggie cartons) to reuse!

If you compost, many local providers accept the carton egg cartons.
