Don’t throw those leaves in the trash – they’ll end up in landfills and produce methane, versus how organics can be composted and added nutrition soil for plants.

Here’s the deal with Philly leaf pickup guidelines for 2016.

Ground rules for Philly leaf recycling 2016:

• Leaves must be in PAPER bags.
• You can LEAF (get it??) the bagged leaves at designated locations (below) on Saturdays starting this week, November 19 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
• Last pickup is Saturday, December 17th.
• Saturday after Thanksgiving is an OFF day – no bagged pickups.
• Do NOTmix trash or other recyclable materials with bagged leaves – they’ll go to the trash pile.
• Bags can be maximum of 40 LBs.
• Buy bags from your local hardware store – no freebies from Streets.
