We love talking about various destinations all over the worlds – especially the ones that take sustainability in stride. My recent yoga retreat in Tulum was a green girl’s dream, and unplugging for a few days reminded me that I have to take time to get away and relax.

Another destination on my list is Puerto Rico. After my BFF has gone a few times, I’ve drooled over her Instagram shots enough to start craving a trip myself.

So what would be on my itinerary?

I’d head to Rincon first and foremost, which reminds me of Tulum. Situated on the west coast, Rincon is a surfing town that makes you feel like home. Away from the hustle, the quiet beaches, food trucks, juice bars and surfers rule this side of the island. There even appears to be a surfer statue in town. So rad.

Although I love lying on the beach, I’m not one to stay still while traveling. That’s why I’d want to hike the four different forest systems in El Yunque and take a dip in a few of the waterfalls. Views on top of Pico El Toro, a 3500-foot peak, was rated among the best hikes.

The other area on my Puerto Rico bucket list is Guanica Dry Forest (a drive along the Ponce-to-San Juan, AKA Pounce’s namesake) for a few additional hikes and dips to cool off afterwards.
